ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

Cretan Polytechnic University is located in Crete in the city of Chania. It was founded in 1977 and consists of five active faculties. The high quality of the faculty, research staff and administrative and technical personnel provides the best guarantee for the future development of the University and its students. The university is currently recognized as one of the most respected research institutions in the Greek market with hundreds of research projects. The campus of buildings includes modern educational and research laboratories, libraries, dormitories, a student restaurant which are some of the best in Greece.
The University received various awards, Professor George Christidis was selected for the Marion L. and Chrystie M. Jackson Mid-Career Clay Scientist Award, and the University received the World Automation Congress 2012 award for best research automation and its student Athanasius Panagopoulos, Department of Electronic and Computer Technology, received the "Best Student Paper Award" for student work at an international scientific conference.
 It is located in Heraklion and has branches in other towns of Crete, Chania, Rethymnon, Ierapetra, Sitia and Agioos Nikolaos.
