ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

Tbilisi State Medical University is the main center of higher medical education in Georgia, which has a centuries-old history of development. Higher medical education in our country is of the same age. It is proud that thousands of graduates of Tbilisi State Medical University, today, decorate many leading clinics and institutions in Georgia, Europe and around the world.
 
The role and responsibility of Tbilisi State Medical University in providing health care to the population of our country is great and honorable. In carrying out this important mission, Tbilisi State Medical University is guided by the basic principles that define its activities and values, someof which are:

In 2018, the university successfully and unconditionally passed the authorization. According to the decision of the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME), from 2023 only the diploma of the university whose medical programs will undergo international accreditation will be recognized in the Euro-Atlantic space. 

Tbilisi State Medical University is a full member of the European Educational Area, which means its active role in the functioning of this educational system, in defining and realizing the directions of development, in establishing free and close scientific and educational contacts with foreign educational, scientific and clinical centers.
