ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

Corfu Island is one of the most famous and most beautiful islands of Greece and the Ionian Sea, known throughout the world for its nature, as well as a rich history dating back centuries.

It is not in vain that it is considered one of the greenest islands of Greece and the Mediterranean : it is famous for its exotic beaches and turquoise waters, olive groves and orange gardens. Kerkyra, as the Greeks call the island, captivates with its aura, picturesque villages on green valleys, narrow alleys and unique architecture.

Here, on this beautiful island, is the Ionian University, which attracts students from all over the world! It was founded in 1984. Over the 30 years of its existence, the university has reached a high level of teaching and has established itself as a rapidly developing and highly promising university, which graduates some of the best specialists in the humanitarian fields.

Infrastructure:
On the territory of the University, for the convenience of students, there is a cafeteria and a dining room, a library, an administrative office, an international relations department, a publication office, a technical support office, an information support office, laboratories, a huge assembly hall for performances, a sports center, computer rooms and large auditoriums.

Science and Achievements:
The University hosts international exhibitions and conferences in which professors and scientists from all over the world participate! For students, additional seminars and projects are held in which they are pleased to participate. The University’s active work in research and development enables its graduates to think more broadly, without limiting themselves to any framework. Students' innovative ideas are supported and published in magazines and newspapers, and are accepted for consideration for support and funding from the state.

The university is a member of the United Conservatoires of Europe (headquarters is located in Bologna) and the European Association of Universities .

It is important to note that in addition to broad prospects in Greece, students are given a chance to prove themselves by participating in international exchange programs lasting from 1 month to a year under the ERASMUS program .
